The TV Week Logie Awards will be held on 18 April 2004. The following FFC projects have been nominated for this year's Logie Awards

Jessica wins silver Hugo

The mini-series Jessica, based on the popular Bryce Courtenay novel of the same name, has won a Silver Hugo (top award) for Best Achievement in Direction at the Chicago International Television Festival USA. Jessica also received the Silver Plaque for Best Mini-Series. Producer Anthony Buckley, director Peter Andrikidis, writer Peter Yeldham, executive producers Bob Campbell, Des Monaghan, Bryce Courtenay, Sue Masters, Nick Witkowski.

Crackerjack wins DVD award

The feature film Crackerjack won the award For Best Australian Film on DVD at the 3rd Annual Australian DVD Awards held at The State Theatre, Sydney on 12 March 2004. Executive producer Greg Sitch, producer Steve Luby, director Paul Moloney, writers Mick Molloy, Richard Molloy.

Other awards and festival selection

  • The documentary My Mother India won the Special Prize at the Guangzhou International Documentary Film Festival Awards, which ran from 13-21 December 2003, in China. Producer Penny McDonald, director Safina Uberoi.

  • The documentary Yum Cha Cha won the Best Documentary Award at the Honolulu International Film Festival in March 2004. Producer Anthony Buckley, director/writer Boyd Britton.

  • The feature film Love's Brother has been accepted into the Houston International Film Festival (WorldFest Houston) which will run 16 - 25 April 2004. Producer Jane Scott, director/writer Jan Sardi.

  • The documentary The Man Who Stole My Mother's Face has been accepted into the prestigious Hot Docs Documentary Festival which will run from 23 April - 2 May 2004 in Canada and the Tribeca Film Festival which will run 1-9 May 2004 in New York. Producer Cathy Henkel, Jeff Canin; director Cathy Henkel.

  • The documentary Hired Assassins has been selected to screen at the 17th Singapore International Film Festival which will be held 15 April -1 May 2004. Producer/director Helen Barrow.

  • The documentary Chinese Takeaway has been invited to screen at the Valley International Film Festival - Los Angeles, Hollywood in March 2004 and the Commonwealth Film Festival - Manchester, UK, in April 2004. Producer/director Mitzi Goldman.
